| Key principle: cost savingsAnytime there are six, 33-story buildings in one project, heating and cooling costs are a concern. The Lotte Castle project in Seoul, Korea, is a prime example of where energy costs for the building owner were considered a high priority. With a climate much like Chicago, superior fenestration performance in Seoul is in demand now more than ever. Through our own in-house chemical laboratory, Azon has formulated a structural polyurethane polymer to have a thermal conductivity of 0.84 Btu-in/(hr-ºF-ft2). The same polymer is utilized in the Azon Warm-Light® air spacer and in the thermal barrier material for the aluminum framing—the two most structural and efficient systems available. With both of these systems utilized in the Lotte Castle project, the energy-savings payback is forecasted at just three years—much sooner than any other proposed designs. The Lotte Castle is the first group in a series of Lotte projects. | Return to Project Folio
